If you plan to drive in Rwanda for more than 90 days, you will need an international driving licence. If you have a period less than that, your home local driving licence is valid. However, Rwanda has a minimum age of 21 to drive a car. Anyone willing to drive here must be 21 years of age or above.

Driving under the influence of Alcohol will carry a jail term of 2 weeks and a fine. There are several speed cameras countrywide, and fines depend on the offence. Usually, they’re between 30 and 50 dollars.
