Golden Monkey Tracking
Golden monkeys inhabit Volcanoes National Park and Gishwati Forest in Rwanda, as well as Mgahinga National Park in Uganda, which is part of the Virunga Massif. In Volcanoes National Park, there are two groups available for tracking: one located on the slopes of Mount Karisimbi and the other in the bamboo forest of Mount Sabyinyo. This tracking experience is offered as a separate excursion, departing daily from the Kinigi headquarters. These monkeys thrive in the highland forests of Central Africa, specifically within the mountain ranges of Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, Mgahinga in Uganda, and Virunga and Kahuzi-Biéga in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Their diet mainly consists of young bamboo leaves, fruits, bamboo branchlets, bamboo shoots, invertebrates, flowers, and shrubs.
